Friday, 3 October 2014 Israeli Dr. Aryeh Eldad and Dutch politician Geert Wilders Discuss The War on Islam Bookmark and Share clear Dr. Aryeh Eldad and Geert Wilders Facing Jihad Conference Jerusalem , December 2008 Two friends we have interviewed, Dr. Aryeh Eldad, former National Union Knesset member, and Dutch Freedom Party leader (PVV) Geert Wilders, met during the latter’s 40th trip to Israel following the recent IDF Operation Protective Edge war against Hamas in Gaza. See our collection: The West Speaks. A recent edition of The International Jerusalem Post (IJP) had an English translation of the conversation between the two f by Dr. Eldad, “The Dutch War on Islam”. Eldad chronicled Wilders ‘love for the Jewish state and their agreement that a real Palestinian State already exists in Jordan. When Eldad and Wilders met at the former’s home in Kfar Adumim, Wilders’ remarked: Whenever I land at Ben-Gurion Airport, I immediately feel at home. I have friends here and I love Israel. You Israelis are like a ray of light in the darkness of the Middle East. Here were some salient exchanges between Eldad and Wilders regarding this Islamic war on the West including the Netherlands. Eldad: Why do you believe Islam is a threat to Europe? Wilders: People who use politically correct terminology claim that there are two types of Islam: the moderate type, which some people call European Islam, and radical Islam. But the truth is, there is only one type of Islam and it is based on the Koran and its hadith, or teachings. Islam and freedom are mutually exclusive concepts. Islam is not really a religion, even though it has the characteristics of one: the Koran, mosques and imams. But, in fact, it’s a form of totalitarian ideology. They alter (or at least try to alter) every non-Muslim community they live in. Even if they are not the majority. The intolerant, totalitarian ideology of Islam professes that one cannot ever leave the religion. This is similar to communist or Nazi regimes. If you desire to cease being a Muslim, the penalty is death. Islam is dangerous and the Koran explicitly states that its goal is to eliminate all other faiths. Seventy-three percent of Muslims in Holland believe that Dutch Muslims who volunteer for jihad are heroes. Hundreds have already joined Islamic State and other such groups of their own free will. The situation is similar in many European countries. On resistance to Islamization, Wilders said: There are the first signs of resistance to this wave of Islamization. But the leaders haven’t woken up yet. Take, for example, what [US President Barack] Obama recently said: ‘We need to fight Islamic State, but this has no connection with Islam in general.’ There’s an elephant in the room, and they’re ignoring it. But it’s not an elephant and it’s not in the room – we are the ones who brought this elephant into our society. This ‘multiculturalism’ is the most widespread disease that can be found in Europe today. There is no moderate Islam. I’m not saying there aren’t moderate people, but don’t forget the survey that was recently carried out in the Netherlands. This is war. Rockets and bombs are not being used as they are here in Israel, but it’s still a war and ours is even more difficult because it’s easier to pretend like it’s not happening. In Israel, you can’t ignore rockets, but most Europeans ignore what’s happening right in their backyard. And when I try to enlighten them, they either ignore me or call me a racist and a fascist. And that’s why I think it’s so important to educate the public about the true nature of Islam. It’s not a mistake to tell your constituents the truth. It’s imperative. You must be honest even if you pay a price for it politically. On Dutch criticism of his visit to Israel, Wilders said: When I was asked by Dutch journalists why I met with [Foreign Minister Avigdor] Liberman, I answered that I wished someone in the Netherlands had just half of the courage Israelis show in their fight against the Arabs. If we did, we’d be able to get rid of all Islamic State supporters on our streets. We’d be able to get back the old Holland. But the reality is that now there are entire districts that are populated by Muslims and in which non-Muslim people cannot walk through. The Hague has an area called the “Shari’a Triangle,” and there are similar areas in Belgium and Germany. We must learn from you to be tougher. On Wilder’s litmus test for hiring staff: If someone only says he’s pro-Israel [because he knows I’m pro-Israel], but he doesn’t have a sparkle in his eyes, I don’t hire him. Yesterday, Wilders, leader of the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV) rose in the Hague Parliament to speak during the debate about the Dutch military mission to join the US-led coalition fighting ISIS from the air. Wilders drew attention to the threat against the West both in the Middle East and in the Netherlands: We are at war. War has been declared against the free West. Our freedom, our culture, the future of our country and our children are at stake. We must strike back hard, in the Netherlands, in the rest of the West and also in Iraq and Syria. Hence, my party supports the Government’s decision to deploy Dutch F16s against the Islamic State. We say: Let us bomb them. But we have no understanding for the fact that we are only going to bomb in Iraq and not in Syria. Is it OK for the Government that people are beheaded, women raped and genocide committed in Syria because a mandate under international law is missing? What cowardice. The government says it understands the United States when they bomb the Islamic State in Syria, but it does not participate itself. Understanding, but no participation, What a cowardly half-heartedness. Even more important than fighting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria is fighting Islamic terrorism in the Netherlands. The security of the Netherlands should be priority number one. Our citizens have to be safe on the train, in the streets, when walking their children to school and shopping. That is what truly matters. In its letter to Parliament, the Government only devotes two paragraphs to national security. There is even more attention for issues of gender and the position of women in the Arab world. That is a travesty. Madam Speaker, we must protect the Netherlands. That is why we were elected. To protect our citizens. Not only the citizens of Iraq and Syria, but also and especially our own people here in the Netherlands. Why is the army not deployed to protect our railways stations? And in their uniforms and heavily armed, of course. And why do we try to stop jihadists when they want to leave our country? Last Sunday, the Minister of Security and Justice proudly said that the passports of 41 jihadists had been canceled so they could not leave to Syria or Iraq. What a stupid act. Now they walk around here, in our streets. People who want to wage jihad elsewhere, decapitate, commit attacks, and walk our streets because of the decision of the Minister. I have been saying it for ten years and I will repeat it once again: Close the borders to immigrants from Islamic countries. Enough is enough. The Islamic culture of hatred does not belong in the Netherlands. 65 per cent of the Dutch agree with this. Let jihadists leave the country, but let them never come back. Reintroduce border controls. Evict everyone with expressed sympathy for the Islamic State; deprive them of their Dutch passports. Let everyone with a passport from an Islamic country sign an anti-Sharia declaration. Wake up, I say to the Government. Protect not only the Iraqi people against the Islamic State; protect the Dutch against the Islamic terrorist threat in our own country. That is your job that is your responsibility. Take that responsibility. Do your duty. A similar clarion call like the one exchanged between Eldad and Wilders should be made here in the US. Especially given the beheading and threats of beheading by Muslim extremists in our heartland, Oklahoma. We note the release by the of an Pentagon alert about such threats by ISIS sympathizers in our midst to both US military and their dependents. The latter warning is an eerie reflection of the May 2007 attempt by Muslim extremists in Pennsylvania and New Jersey to attack the US Army facility at Fort Dix. Both Eldad and Wilders are clear-eyed about the Wars against Islamic extremism, whether surrounding the Jewish nation or confronting the Netherlands and the West, especially the US.
